The literary event ‘Les belles etrangeres’ which, each year in France promotes foreign literature is dedicated to Lebanon in its 2007 edition.

Mohammad Abisamra is among the 12 authors chosen for this event (along with Alia Mamdouh, Rachid el-Daif, Abbas Baydoun, Hassan Daoud, Elias Khoury and young promising graphic novelist Zeina Abirached, to site only a few). The French translation of his novel ‘The precedent man’ was for this occasion published by Sindbad, Paris.
