Red Deer College produced in April Saadallah Wannou’s play “The King is the King”.
Wannous is one of the most famous playwrights in the Arabic writing world. His plays are translated and often produced. RAYA represents Wannous’ translation rights, and recently also took over production rights. RDC’s production is the first on our list!

Feltrinelli acquired Italian rights to Douaihy’s Chased away.

These posts are a little redundant, but I had to make three of them for the information to be really clear! Finally, Yazbek’s ‘In the crossfire: Syrian revolution diaries’ were acquired by Haus publishing, UK. The book is expected to be out in May.

German rights to Yazbek’s ‘In the crossfire: Syrian revolution diaries’ were acquired by Nagel & Kimche, Hanser. The book is expected to be out in March.

French house Buchet-Chastel acquired the rights to Samar Yazbek’s book ‘In the crossfire: Syrian revolution diaries’. The book should be out in the end of March.

As a follow up on the previous post, concerning a very interesting interview given by Hawra al Nadawi to politiken in Denmark, I am happy to announce that the Danish rights of the young author’s book ‘Under the Copenhagen’s sky’, was acquired by C&K Forlag.
