The 41st edition of the Cairo book fair is held this year from January 21st to February 2nd, with the UK as a guest of honour.

Jabbour Douaihy’s novel ‘Ayn Warda’ appeared in January 2009 in French under the title ‘Rose Fountain Motel’, translated by Emmanuel Varlet, and published by Sindbad, Actes Sud.

On a visit to Paris, Jabbour Douaihy will give a seminar on his latest novel June Rain. The seminar, held at 46 Rue d’Ulm, 75005 Paris, on Jaunary 16th, at 18h, will focus on the relationship between history and fiction.

The IPAF’s, or Arab Man Booker prize awarded in Abu Dhabi, long list of 16 titles was very recently published!

The 16 titles below were chosen out of the 121 titles presented for the competition by Arab publishers.

The 52nd edition of the Beirut Book Fair will be held at the Biel Center, from November 28th through December 11th.

Specially noticeable this year in Hall 5 was the presence of the ADACH’s, the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage Foundation, and the MBR’s, the Mohammad Bin Rached al Maktoum foundation, Dubai, bold stands.
